ASMAN Scholarship Programme

The ASMAN Scholarship Programme, “Each One Teach One” was established in 2002 with the dream of finding sponsors for children studying in the 2 sister schools - ‘Mary Ward’ of Lubhoo and Jhamsikhel.  Within almost a decade, ASMAN has managed to reach out and help a certain number of children. Sponsors are provided with the child’s bio-data, photo and report cards annually. At the beginning of each school term, sponsors are invited to meet and handover the gift package to their child personally (prepared with their donation of Rs 5000/- per child per year). The package contains text books, stationery and uniform to aid them through the whole year. This gesture has helped greatly in stopping their parents from pulling them out due to financial difficulties. The Sisters of St. Mary’s School partner with ASMAN in imparting value based education and discipline to the children.

The main objectives of scholarship support are:

  • To increase the enrolment rate of the girl child in formal education with special focus on socially excluded
  • Bring a decrease in the number of drop out of girls
  • To achieve gender parity in primary, lower secondary and secondary education, from the existing disparity in each of these levels
